Lead Data Engineer (PANAMA)

Mod Op has been rapidly growing and is excited to hire a Lead Data Engineer to play a critical role in helping our business and our clients' businesses get more value out of their data through the design and execution of data visuals, dashboards and the configuration and maintenance of applications that provide predictive analytics, machine learning and workflow automation. Essential Functions Define, lead, and collaborate with UX/UI, front-end development, and IT on projects. Use or design API’s, data architecture, data strategy, database design, data analysis, workflow or ETL processes for data warehouses and dashboards. Acquire, store, and transform historical, third-party, and first-data from websites, e-commerce applications, data warehouses, and other marketing technology for the purpose of aligning solutions to client’s objectives. Structure solutions that can be efficiently integrated or consumed by machine learning/AI applications. Who Are We Looking For? Someone who is creative, collaborative, constantly learning and a flexible problem solver with deep experience in SQL, Python, data science and data science processes as well as experience in two or more major data warehousing platforms, like Google Big Query, AWS or snowflake. They have worked in a marketing and/or retail/consumer business intelligence environments where architecting data, running monitoring, cleaning and security processes, writing SQL queries, creating Python scripts and modeling were weekly activities against clear personal and business growth goals. They have designed and supported marketing performance reporting, attribution and/or ROI dashboards and are familiar with applications like Lookr, Google Data Studio and Tableu. They have worked with the data tables and structures of at least two different CRM's/marketing automation platforms, such as Hubspot, Netsuite or Salesforce, and have working knowledge or have lead the design, execution and management of a CDP or marketing database. They have a strong interest and are actively exploring how the use of data and data science will evolve with the increased use of Web 3 technologies including blockchain, nft’s, communities and the metaverse. They have personal and/or professional experience in Web 3 technologies. Travel This position requires very little travel, up to 15% travel to other offices and/or client meetings. Requirements Bachelors Degree required 5+ years of related work experience that includes data analysis, management and/or engineering. Preferred Education and Experience Bachelors in computer science, data science or similar preferred. A master’s degree is a plus. Data Science, business intelligence certification or specific higher education degree in data science or related field preferred 5+ years working in a software/tech environment within or that supports a Business Intelligence Environment in SaaS, marketing, retail or consumer research. Experience in multiple databases and data warehouses including, but not limited to: Big Query, Snowflake, MySQL, MSSQL, MongoDB and PostgreSQL Excels at two or more programming languages, including JavaScript, PHP, Python or R. At least 5-years’ experience in server scripting using Bash and Expect or similar. At least 5-years’ experience in the practical application of data science, modeling, and predictive analytics Experience using, collaborating, and working in Web 3 technologies including AR/VR, blockchain, NFT and/or the metaverse. Experience and deep interest in consumer behavior and wanting to deepen their understanding of why people do what they do and predict what is likely based on patterns. A passion for innovation and exploring how data can improve the user experience and increase the value of software and digital products.
